Official crosswalk unveiling

Lynwood Park was established in the early 1900’s and was the first predominantly African American subdivision in DeKalb County. While the demographics of the community changed dramatically, the sense of pride to preserve the rich history of the community remains.

On October 13, 2020, the City of Brookhaven adopted a resolution recognizing the historic importance of the Lynwood Park community and school. This crosswalk serves to further commemorate the unique heritage of the Lynwood Park Community.
